A Warm Welcome
The Fairburn Singers is a mixed-voice choir of 40+ members. We meet weekly in the Church Hall at Fairburn and are supported by remunerated musicians: Andris Ugulis is our Musical Director and Mandy Jones our Accompanist. We have been singing as a choir since 1990 and enjoy performing a wide variety of music from popular songs, medleys from the shows to hymns and sacred music.
We perform at a variety of venues, ie Churches, Selby Abbey, Riley-Smith Hall, Tadcaster, Wakefield Cathedral, Castleford Civic Centre, The Ackworth School and St Giles Church, Pontefract as well as Fairburn Community Centre – even onboard Fred.Olsen cruise ships. We recently entertained the guests at Warner’s Thoresby Hall near Nottingham and are due to return there in November. Sometimes we are joined by other Choirs and musicians, eg Castleford MVC, Doncaster Youth Jazz Association, Skelmanthorpe MVC, as well as Featherstone MVC solo peand rformers eg Lily Brown, Violinist.
