A Warm Welcome
The Fairburn Singers are a mixed-voice choir of 40+ members. We meet weekly in the Church Hall at Fairburn and are supported by remunerated musicians: Andris Ugulis is our Musical Director and Mandy Jones our Accompanist. We have been singing as a choir since 1990 and enjoy performing a wide variety of music from popular songs, medleys from the shows to hymns and sacred music.
We perform at a variety of venues, ie Churches, Selby Abbey, Wakefield Cathedral, Castleford Civic Centre, The Ackworth School and St Giles Church, Pontefract as well as Fairburn Community Centre – even onboard Fred.Olsen cruise ships. Sometimes we are joined by other Choirs and musicians, eg Castleford MVC, Doncaster Youth Jazz Association and Skelmanthorpe MVC as well as solo performers eg Lily Brown, Violinist.
