Singing – A fun way to raise funds
Each year we nominate different charities to support with money earned during our fundraising and concerts.
Suggestions for charities for 2026 will be considered at our Annaul General Meeting in the New Year.
In December 2025, this cheque was gratefully received by a member of the Hospice Fundraising Team at The Prince of Wales’ Hospice in Pontefract.
Additionally money was donated to Fairburn Primary School.
Janet, our Chairman and Sally our Committee Secretary, presenting a cheque for £500 to Sleepsafe in Selby, a charity which aims to break the cycle of homelessness and rough sleeping. They can accommodate 6 people at a time, who can then move on into independent living.

The National Children’s Air Ambulance transfers sick children, infants, and babies to specialist care teams across England, Scotland, and Wales.
Our mission? Simple.
To help children grow up, adults live longer, and families stay together—because losing someone to trauma should be rare.
Every service under our banner works flat out to deliver critical care. On the ground. In the air. Wherever and whenever we’re needed.

The coming year is set to be an exciting time for Martin House. Since autumn 2023, we’ve been undergoing our biggest transformation since we first opened our doors nearly 40 years ago.
We have already built and opened our new children’s wing, which has offered improved facilities, like ensuite accessible bathrooms and piped oxygen to beds, helping us deliver high quality care to children and young people with life-shortening conditions in the best possible surroundings.
The new wing has also given us valuable new space – so rooms and corridors are bigger, allowing room for the complex equipment and wheelchairs many children in our care now need. But it’s also provided enhanced facilities, like a new playroom and art room, plus private space for families, and hotel standard parent and family bedrooms, guaranteeing them the good night’s sleep they so often rely on during a stay at Martin House.
